The U.S. multifamily sector demonstrated solid performance during the third quarter of 2023, maintaining its resilience in comparison to other sectors and less weatherproof investments. Demand continued to rebound following a turbulent 2022, resulting in steady occupancy rates and asking rents remaining close to their historical highs. We believe U.S. multifamily fundamentals are poised to remain strong largely due to favorable supply-demand imbalances, with the overall lack of housing availability and affordability in the U.S. consistently generating demand for rental apartments. CP Capital intends to capitalize on this opportunity by making investments in ground-up development and select value-add acquisitions of multifamily properties with best-in-class partners in high-growth and/or supply-constrained markets throughout the U.S.
